With the continuous depletion of conventional fossil energy and environmental issues becoming increasingly prominent, the renewable energy represented by wind energy becomes more and more people’s attention. In recent years, the rapid increase of wind power technology reduces the cost of wind power, and provides the possibility for its large-scale development. But wind velocity is affected by the natural environment, causing its output highly intermittent, random and not controllable, then large-scale wind power network will have a greater impact on the power system. Therefore, wind power has been plagued by the problem of large-scale wind farm development at home and abroad.The uncontrollable wind power can be converted into a reliable power supply by wind farms and pumped storage power station with run, reducing the impact on the grid effectively. Pumped Storage Power Station is a special power in power system. It is sent through the suction conditions and electrical conditions, not only as a load but also as a power supply, the output power of the wind farm can be reallocated on a "time" and "space" in the system, and it can be more effectively assisted in the wind power and network. In the new situation of emerging energy represented by wind power, photovoltaic power generation rapid development and the coexistence of a variety of new energy, the implementation of pluripotent complement is an important measure of playing their respective advantages and learning from each other for a variety of energy.This paper is based on the subject of "Ebinur pluripotent complementary renewable energy base plan". According to the Chinese12th Five-year wind power "the combination of scale development and decentralized development" of new energy development strategy requires, it introduces the background of coordinated construction of wind power and pumped storage power station firstly, analyzes the current research situation at home and abroad to study the problems currently accelerating the development of wind power and pumped storage power station. Then, the relevant principles of coordinated construction of wind power and pumped storage power station are analyzed to explain the necessity and advantages of coordinated construction. Finally, combining the actual situation of Ebinur renewable energy development base, it makes empirical analysis, pluripotent complementary renewable energy development programs, and analyzes the economic and feasibility of coordinated construction of wind power and pumped storage power station.
