The subject about design and development of the underground pedestrian system builded in urban rail transportation hub area has been unfolding with the intensification of urban land use and development of rail traffic. The primary function of the underground pedestrian system is to complete the transfer function of rail transportation hub area with the ground system, while shoulder the integration of the underground commercial and open space features.First, to be guided by modern urban walk theory, based on the summary about theory of domestic and foreign and the research about typical underground pedestrian system builded in urban rail transportation hub area, combined with the systems theory, the functional integration theory and the architecture·urban integration theory, this paper has analysed the lack of relevant theories and reality and summarized the impact of the design elements of urban rail transportation hub of the underground pedestrian system. Then, this paper has put forward two design principles in transfer system and urban life, and summarized and proposed design features from three aspects that the functional integration of the hub hall as the center, the integrated combination of space with the goal of three-dimensional network and the spatial forms of the "transfer space as the core", and the long-term planning of the guide of the walk concept, trying to build a complete framework for the design principles and methods of underground pedestrian system of urban rail transportation hub area. The last, this paper has taken the Beijing "Xizhimen-Dongwuyuan" section as an example to make an empirical research.
