The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued the national standard "automatic fire alarm system design specifications"(GB50116-2013) in September6,2013, came into force from May1,2014.This renewed standard adds automatic residential building fire alarm system, combustible gas detection and alarm system, related electrical fire control system design requirements. Since then, residential building fire alarm system has a more clear design specification; automatic wireless fire alarm system design can refer to this standard.Fire disaster is one of the most frequent disasters, it always threat to life, health and property of the people. With the rapid development of social economy, science and technology, people generally installed gas pipelines, fire hazards increases. In public places, such as airports, train stations, libraries, commercial plazas, supermarkets, hotels, etc., automatic fire alarm system is one of the essential fire-fighting system configurations, fire alarm system for fire prevention and management plays a key role. However, for the residential area is concerned, the fire alarm system is lagging behind, most of the residential area just installed a traditional manual alarm system, and installed manual alarm button in the corridor. As technology, economy and people’s living standards continue to develop, more and more people are concerned about the living conditions of the residence, requirements are also increasing, traditional fire safety measures will not meet people’s needs. As residents of the community of modern residential buildings, modern firefighting measures can provide an important measure of its quality.This paper focus on two residential areas which prone to lead to a fire hazard, namely electric and gas, especially analyzed gas leakage is in detail, because the main cause of fires in residential areas is gas. On this basis, systematical explained a wireless automatic fire alarm system used in residential area, designed an automatic fire alarm system which suitable for use in residential areas. Considering the popular wireless communication technology, choose ZigBee technology with advantages of small data throughput, low power consumption, network capacity and others. Apply ZigBee wireless technology to build a communication network, transmits alarm information for remote control via the Super terminals and alarm interface display, which has good scalability to overcome the many shortcomings of traditional fire alarm system. The alarm system includes alarm information collection node (fire detection terminal) and a wireless network coordinator node. Compared with conventional fire alarm system with free wiring, low cost, easy maintenance, etc., the new system effectively prevents fire hazards, it has practical significance for the protection of people’s lives, health and property.
