Special terrain conditions created the mountain city roads have the characteristicsof much steep slope and curve. What makes the bus running environment complexityand the bus accidents tend to be more seriously. In the condition of bus developrapidly and the government advocates bus travel strongly, how to guarantee themountain city’s bus running safe speed is a significant work. Therefore, it is necessaryto research the mountain city bus speed.Firstly, this paper analyzes the mountain city road net characteristics, mountaincity bus routes net characteristics, Summarizes the mountainous urban bus travelfeatures and bus running characteristics of the mountain city bus. Secondly, this paperanalyzes the influence factors of the mountainous city bus speed in-depth in terms ofthe people-car-road-environment, respectively. This paper introduces the surveymethod of bus running speed based on the different roads, and then sorts and analyzesthe survey data. Getting the change rule of the bus running speed based on thedifferent road sections under different road grade by analyzing the relationshipsbetween the running speed and the road conditions. And then, this paper applies themethod of Multiple Linear Regression to the measured data. Considering thecorrelations between the running speed and the two factors of the initial velocity andrunning distance on the flat road. Considering the correlations between the runningspeed and the three factors of the initial velocity、running distance and longitudinalslope degree on the longitudinal slope road. Considering the correlations between therunning speed and the three factors of the initial velocity、turning radius andlongitudinal slope degree on the plane curve or curved slope road. After ordinalregression, this paper gets the model of bus running speed of the mountainous citybased on the different road sections under different road grade under the conditions offree stream. The models of actual running speed have been got through relevantrevisions. In the end, this paper evaluates the security of the continuity of bus runningspeed and the balances of the running speed and designing speed of the adjacent roadsections on the basis of analysis of the bus safety accidents of Chongqing in recentyears. The relationships of running speed and security both at home and abroad andthe model of bus running speed of the mountainous city. Finally, on the basis ofChongqing bus accidents in recent years and the relationship between speed andsafety,use bus speed bus speed of adjacent sections of the continuity of the design speed and running speed and the speed difference between the three indicators,Establishing based on the safe operation of the bus speed vague judgments matterelement system, Achieving the mountain city buses running speed safetydetermination.Through this research of mountain city bus running speed and safety evaluation,establish mountain city bus running speed model in different grade road and differentsections, also include bus speed safety evaluation system.
