| Upgrading transmission line has series of special advantages such increasing transmission line capacity which is today’s challenge of new right of way, its optimal technics will help not only in transmission capacity increase but also economic and environment effects concerns, most as possible using the existing right of way.However with the transmission capacity increase, electric field, corona loss, audible noise and radio interference have become restricting factors.Firstly in this thesis different technics for upgrading of transmission line capacity were presented; depending on approach, different considerations.A large number of calculations using Matlab were made for the value of electric field at the surface of the conductor, and from it the corona loss, audible noise and radio interference for Rwanda electric power system were computed and their electric field strength at the ground level, all of these above’s transmission parameters dependence were shown, and for the obtained values, comparison with standards for limitations.This thesis has laid a basis foundation for research on Rwanda electric power system, its electromagnetic field environment in particular and a basis for planning and operation of Rwanda Electric power system. |
