Steel enterprise is an important raw material industry in the national economy and it has strong dependence on power, what’s more, it has more requirements for power quality. Take a certain large steel enterprise as an example, this paper analyzes the transient stability of the power system of steel enterprise by the PSASP(Power system analysis software package), especially when the power system is on isolated operation.In the view of existing large amount of impact load in the steel enterprise, this paper focuses on the study of the influence of impact load on the system frequency. By establishing an model of impact load, the rule that is the effect of impact load on the system frequency has been found, which is based on the study of the frequency characteristic of power system.Finally, this paper proposes the regional stability control system on the base of analyzing the transient stability of the power system of steel enterprise and it focuses on the study of the cutting machine, cutting load and under frequency load shedding and the certain control strategies have been given. It has certain reference significance in the choice of stability control measures for the power system of steel enterprise.
