With the accelerating of economic globalization, marine transportation is becoming moreand more frequent and complicated, which brings about shipwreck frequent accidents and riskingpiracy boat event. When a ship meets urgent circumstance including piracy and armed robbery, itis important to launch automatically and quickly the ID, location and distress information of theship, and get shore-based help, for reducing the amount of casualties and property loss andimproving safety at sea. The realization of the ship alarm equipment in distress will play anirreplaceable role in the process of the alarm, and is of great significance.Now ship-borne alarm system has been mature. However there are still some shortages suchas communication dependent on foreign satellite navigation systems and no built-in back-uppower, etc. For these shortages, an emergency alarm terminal based on Beidou navigation systemis developed. The terminal is mainly composed of Beidou positioning communication module,central control unit, automatic detection module, power and alarm button. STC12seriesmicroprocessor is used as the central control unit which can acquire and parse Beidoupositioning information, deal with warming message, and check electric quantity. When thepower supply in abnormal level, it will automatically switch to the built-in battery for powersupply and trigger the alarm signal. The vessel emergency alarm terminal whose key componentis the built-in Beidou positioning communication module can realize functions of positioningand short message communication of Beidou which is the independently developed achievementin our country. It has two starting modes to start the alarm. One is that when abnormal poweroutages the system can automatically identify and trigger the alarm signal. The other ishand-motion start-up. The alarm is with concealment and built-in battery is installed in theemergency alarm terminal, which can work for96hours continuously after the power on shipfailure.The research not only detailed design of hardware circuits of the emergency alarm terminal,but also implemented software. According to the principle of hardware structure and functionalrequirements, software whose main points are transport protocol, encoding protocol is researchedbased on the environment of Keil uVision4.The test verifies that the system meets the requirement. It can quickly and coyly give analarm when a vessel is in distress, to improve the safety of the lives and vessels, and it is of greatsignificance to promote application of Beidou in civil terminal with a broad market prospect.
