In view of this phenomenon, this thesis puts Wa nationality dwellings as the main research object, researches the development trend of dwellings construction in "build houses from the collective to the architects", discusses the dwellings form due to build mechanism of subtle influence result, and not presentational characteristics of typical residential of Simple classification.The thesis believes that the research is a continuous process, focuses on performance of the "what is the tradition dwelling "," how is it now" and "how is it in the future" of Wa nationality dwellings by attitude of the dialectical research. Firstly, the development history, regional culture and the mode of production,the influence factor of Wa nationality dwellings is system researched, summaries cultural characteristics and villages, houses of Wa based on form feature the "original", to explore the formation mechanism, and the existing problems; secondly, focused on Wa nationality dwellings as the representative of the dry column type houses facing the plight,and analysis of advantages and disadvantages by the intervention of architect, summarizes the modern Wa village, residential types, characteristics, and the formation mechanism of modern residence change. At the same time, according to the study on the theory and practice of participation way, to find a breakthrough from the change of generation mechanism, called from the source to solve the problem, psychology, behavior person. Finally exploring the internal mechanism of the form of residence, and rebuilding the generation mechanism, extraction pattern language, in order to sort out the suitable way to update the houses.The thesis is based on the continuity of time and space, using the method of cross multidisciplinary including architecture, anthropology, psychology, behavioral science, geography etc, to make a comparative study of large explain profound theories in simple language. Aiming at the summary of pattern language and intelligence system of Wa nationality dwellings, so as to understand the internal order of the house, explore the update model of dwellings, finding significance of spontaneous construction, author hopes the research can contribute to the folk dwellings in Yunnan.
