Research On The Architectpural Csomposition Of Alxa Dingyuanying

This thesis has lasted one and a half years. The research group,’Construction of the Digitization and Simulation of the Traditional Architecture in Inner Mongolia’, come and do the survey on Dingyuanying for many times. The research had maped the existing ancient buildings in Dingyuanying during two months. The local cultural relics and tourism sector department has researched on the existing ancient buildings since eighties of last century. It is the first time to study systematic layout and classification Dingyuanying buildings in Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China on architecture field.Dingyuanying is located in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Alxa Left Banner Bayanhot town. Dingyuanying was founded due to military reasons in1726. Khoshut tribe made an outstanding contribution on the maintenance of northwestern border stability. Qing government award Dingyuanying to Khoshut Mongolian princes in1731. Dingyuanying owns unique geological locations and historical backgrounds. In this area, nomadic culture and farming culture mixed. The cultural of Mongolian, Manchu, Tibetan, Han and Hui integrate here. These multicultural factors play a decisive role on the layout of Dingyuanying.Through historical documents and reconnaissance mapping, the paper could explore the plan of Dingyuanying in Qing Dynasty and in the Republic of China. After reading historical documents, visiting residents and looking historical photos, the paper makes out a schematic recovery plan of the disappeared building community in Dingyuanying. Firstly, the paper summarizes the city’s layout and construction history. Then it could study the layout concepts of Dingyuanying buildings on administrative, defense, religious, residential, community, garden and Mausoleum. The paper makes the city exposure to particular feudal hierarchy, minority geographical cultural, religious practices to analyze. This article shows a collision, coexist, blend multicultural in front of the viewer.This paper aims to analyse the layout of various building types and the morphologic characteristics of Dingyuanying, attemptting to find out the relationtionship between the layout of buildings in Dingyuanying and regional culture. The author recovers the integrity layout of Dingyuanying with computer software. The paper fills in gaps in the study of the layout of architectural composition.
