Research On The Color Of Islamic Architecture In The Old City Of Beijing

For the purpose of protecting Islamic historic content and architecture color inheritance,This paper is set against a backdrop of twenty-five historical and cultural protected areas andaimed at the Islamic architecture inside the old city of Beijing, making research and control ofIslamic architecture color of old Beijing. In view of architecture color, structure anddecoration, an on-site survey towards the Islamic buildings in Beijing was taken. Islamicculture and Chinese culture produced an effect on each other and achieved a perfect harmonyafter Islam was introduced to China; the unique Chinese Islamic architecture color of greatcharm was formed.In the part of theoretical study, the main subject is reading related literature to learn basicconcept like the origins and faith of Islam. The author separately devoted evolution of Islamicarchitecture in China and in Beijing area, and by means of available literature and authorizedtreatises, the research status and practice of urban color, architectural color and Islamicarchitecture color was discussed.In the part of research the author introduced the background of the objects, methods andtools, then analysis the overall profile, history, graphic and decoration. After entre the colordata into the urban and architectural color information management system color database forIslamic architecture of old Beijing, the author summed up and concluded the overall color ofthe old city of Beijing Islamic architectural style. By site investigations on the status andfeatures of architecture color，building structure, decoration, the author summed up theattractive color system of Islamic architecture with the background of cultural integrationbetween Chinese traditional and Islamic culture.The part of theoretical analysis discussed color science and its relevant cross-discipline,seek the factors in the formation of Islamic architecture color of Old Beijing in colorgeography terms, concluded and sort out traditional decorative patterns, ethnic characteristicsin view of art, and deeply analyzed common typical colors used by Islamic architectures. TheIslamic architecture color system and protection principle were concluded.The part of results summarized and raised Islamic architecture color recommendedchromatogram in the old city of Beijing based upon feature of Islamic architecture color, andmethods and strategies, control principles for building color components.The part of conclusion summarized the containing and tolerance of Beijing traditionalarchitecture culture, discussed both color protection methods and mechanisms for theprotection of cultural tourism，and summarizes the thesis unfinished work and future researchdirections.
