The Study On The Design Of The Palace Construction From The Late Neolithic Age To The Western Zhou Dynasty

The palace construction is the symbol of royalty. In itself, within a certain period oftime, its design and construction reflected the highest achievement of architecturaltechnology and art. At the same time, it is the reflection of the ancient ideas and the ritualorder in the architectural design. The large buildings from the late primitive society to thepre Qin Period is the origin of the Chinese Palace Construction. These representativeconstructions in this historical period were selected to be a breakthrough of studying theearly architectural design of the Chinese culture.The paper proceeds from the angle of design, combine the report on archaeologicalexcavations over the years with the records on the ancient documents, discussing about theprocess of the Chinese palace construction from infancy to maturity. In this way, trying to sum upthe design features of the palace constructions and discuss about the influencing factors of it.In the first place, the paper defines the concept of the palace construction and the time,so as to ensure the rigorousness of the paper. In the first chapter, the paper discusses theformation of the palace construction, based on the typical large buildings (including theceremonial buildings); In the second chapter, the paper discusses the design performance indetail. In addition, it summarizes the design features, including the features on thearchitectural layout、form、planning and facilities. At the same time, it discusses theinheritance and evolution of the palace construction from the layout、closed courtyard andthe axis of the planning; In the third chapter, based on the first and the second chapter, itanalysis and sum up the design concept of the Chinese palace construction in the earlytimes. The decoration of the architecture is also discussed in this paper.Besides, the subject such as the comparison of the large buildings in the late primitivesociety; the further study of the features of the palace constructions are the problems whichremain to expand the research.
