This paper presents the study on the energy-saving retrofit technologies for existing publicbuildings in hot summer and cold winter area and focuses on the retrofitting technology of buildingenvelope and the application of renewable energy. The technical strategies and evaluation methodsare proposed. Finally, two demonstration retrofitting projects have been investigated and studied.This paper includes the following five parts:(1) The development of building energy-saving technologies and especially the buildingenergy saving reconstruction technology have been studied from literature and practical projectexperiences.(2) Based on the energy consumption characteristics of existing public buildings in hotsummer and cold winter area, this paper indicates that the efficient way is to reform exterior wall,window and roof, as well as to use the renewable energy technologies. And this paper proposestechnology strategies of the building envelope retrofit and renewable energy technologies.(3) By means of Ansys simulation and literature survey, conventional buildingenergy-saving technologies of exterior wall, window and roof have been contrastively analyzed toevaluate the application suitability of energy-saving retrofit of existing public buildings in hotsummer and cold winter area.(4) This paper discusses the application prospect of solar energy and ground source heatpump in hot summer and cold winter area in accordance with the territory and climatic feature, andanalyzes the application suitability of existing public buildings.(5) This paper analyzes the comprehensive application of reconstruction of energy savingstrategy and evaluation methods through the building energy-saving case of constructionengineering building of Ningbo University and Ningbo Municipal Construction Committeetraining center. The technologies and techno-economic efficiency of the retrofitting projects ofNingbo University have been investigated from theory and theoretical aspects, and the theoreticalcalculation for the Ningbo Municipal Construction Committee training center have been comparedwith the practical opration data.
