Weaving Strategy Of Landscape In Urban Renewal

In recent20or30years, China has achieved rapid development of economy; theurbanization has been accelerated increasingly; the scale of the urban construction hasachieved unprecedented rapid development; the speed, domain and dimension of theold-city renewal are also incomparable in the history.With people’s in-depth understanding of the urban historical heritage, theprotection of the heritage environment and urban humanity has aroused great concernin public. In1933, Athens Charter formulated by the international modern architectassociation improves the protection consciousness on the historical relics. anAmerican scholar, summarized the practice experience of the urban design from1960s to1980s, and put forward “Maintain City Renewal”. In1970s, Colin Roweclearly pointed out using contextualism approach to knit up the image of the moderncity fragment in his book Collage City (1976). In China, Professor Wu Liangyong’s“Organic Renewal” Theory advocates “Comply with the texture of the city accordingto the internal development rule, and explore the urban renewal and development onthe basis of the sustainable development”. Professor Ruan Yisan clarifies fourprinciples of protecting the ancient cities in Theory and Planning of Historical CultureCity Conservation, i.e. authenticity, readability, integrity, and sustainability.The city is regarded as a symbol with unique significance. Especially, for thefamous historical and cultural city, the reflection of the original historical context inthe historical culture value of the city is indispensable. In recent years, theconservation problem of the historical heritage urgently needs to be solved.Thereupon, a new vocabulary “weaving” has come into being. As a new strategy inthe old-city renewal, the core method of darning is to protect the historical remains,optimize the urban structure and continue the urban context.Therefore,this paper starts from the strategy of “landscape weaving”, and putsforward the concept, content, method and corresponding principle of the landscapedarning aiming at the existing major problems in the theoretical research and actualdesign. With the theoretical concept with the core of “weaving”, it analyzes the advantages of the greenbelt, building component and culture of the old city inupdating the old-city landscape, takes “greenbelt”,“building component”, and“culture” as the patch, weaving the landscape of the old city, and then connects theseregions with the urban development, protects and inherits the historical appearance ofthe old city. In addition, it takes the old towns of Meishan as the object of the researchmode, it carries out landscape weaving design, makes further exploration on theapplication of the design in the practice with the virtual research approach on the basisof the established theoretical system, and tries to put forward suggestions for applyingsuch strategy.
