| With the sustainable development of China’s economy especially in Yangtze RiverDelta and the rising of Chinese resident’s car ownership, the number of the car crossing theriver has being constant ascending. There is some limitation in quantities and carryingcapacity of the Yangtze River Bride, so the Yangtze River car ferry becomes animportant supplemental way. The existing car ferry operational management is vulnerableto various security risks factors, which brings the society huge economic loss and adverseeffects in the event of security incidents.After a full analysis of the existing operating mode and status of safety management ofthe Yangtze car ferry, a car ferry vessel remote monitoring and management system wasdesigned and implemented based on Microsoft’s latest ASP.NET technology. It can monitorand manage the data on several car ferries on the same area at the same time to detectpotential security risks in real-time, thus ensuring the normal operation of car ferry. Thesystem is modular in design to be developed and maintained easily in the future. It consistsof six feature modules including safety management, data query, personnel management,certificate management, material management, maintenance management and systemmanagement background. It can fully collect, store, check varieties of real-time andnon-real-time data on the car ferry operation, and show these data to users via tendencycharts, diagrams and reports, meanwhile, it also can send alarming message when abnormaldata is detected, which helps users to analyze the security of car ferry.This system is based on B/S structure. Microsoft ASP.NET Web is used as developmenttechnology, Visual Studio.NET2010as the development platform, C#as the developmentlanguage and SQL Server2008as the back-end database, during which GDI+graphics,Crystal Reports and other technologies are adopted to enhance system’s human-computerinteraction.Testing results show that system implemented runs well on the client and achieves thedesired target. It not only improves the overall automation management level of thecompany along the Yangtze River, but also positively promotes the development of ship’smonitoring and management technology. |
