Urban water supply system as the link forthe utilization of urban water resources, is oneof the important infrastructures of city, is the the basic conditions and safeguard of city’soperation and development.Urban water supply engineering planning and design is complex.It should be based on actual situation analysis toimprove the science, rationality andapplicability of pipe network planning.This paper takes Caijiapo Economic and Technological Development Zone as anexample,combines with the local actual situation, proposes a few key points that weshouldpay attention to in the urban water supply planning process, and further discusses thekey problems and solutions in the planning and design.In the planning should be consideredthe social development situation and the overall urban planning idea etc.When predicting the water consumption, firstly, we should completethe previouspreparation, such asthe data collection, field investigation and so on.During the process ofwater prediction, we should use a variety of prediction methods, study and analysis themultiple predicted results, select the most actual water prediction results.When selecting thewater sources, establishthe water resources supply-demand balance analysis. This paper,taking Caijiapo economic and technological development zone as an example, study the waterresources status quoin the area of, and reasonably select the city water source.This paperpresents the block theory and its significanceof pipeline network. With Caijiapo economic andtechnological development zone as an example, studies the methods of pipe networkblock.According to the natural rivers, lakes, main road and rail partitions ofplanning are, CaiGupo center city water supply pipe network is divided into six areas, using the watersupplysystem of partition and partial pressure.The results shows that when forecastingthe water consumption,should firstly analysis thesituation of water planning.And then select norm according to the city’s comprehensivedevelopment as well as the national related policy. Urban water distribution network planningshould be block.Blocked water distribution network can not only reduce theleakage loss, butalso improve the applicability and security of the water distribution pipe network.
