Based on the existing theory, this article focuses on the stress analysis and stabilityanalysis of sandwich plate theory. At the same time, this article makes a brief introduction tothe stress analysis and stability theory of a general orthotropic bridge deck for comparisonand reference. On this basis, we study the stress performance of polyurethane-steel sandwichplate system bridge deck.First of all, we design the model based on current structure and some engineeringexamples. According to the similar principles, we design pilot program, make test model anddo some experimental study. At last, we compare the result of experimental value and finiteelement calculated value to get the stress performance of polyurethane-steel sandwich platesystem bridge deck. The result shows that the finite element analysis results are in goodagreement with the experimental value.Secondly, on the base of the flexural properties experiment of the model, we also studythe instability of ultimate bearing capacity of polyurethane-steel sandwich plate systembridge deck. Through the experiment, we come to the ultimate strength of the model in theaxial pressure and uniform loads of wheel. The results are close with the finite elementanalysis results by use of Arc-length method. The results show that the overall stability ofpolyurethane-steel sandwich plate system bridge deck is better than except. The results showthat the U ribs of bridge deck appeared buckling phenomenon firstly under the action of axialpressure and uniform loads of wheel.Thirdly, we study the impact of the ultimate strength to polyurethane-steel sandwichplate system bridge deck under the changes of the parameters, such as the affect of platethickness of the sandwich panels, the affect of the core thick ness and the affect of the U ribsnumbers. These factors analysis by the use of finite element software. The main task is studythe buckling modes and buckling limit load through the change of the parameters. Thecalculated results were compared to get the degree of different parameters influences topolyurethane-steel sandwich plate system bridge deck.Finally, the research work of this paper in structural design, mechanical performance andstability bearing capacity has a certain reference value in design and research of polyurethane-steel sandwich plate system bridge deck in country.
