The park is a major component of urban green space, as a category thaturban residents most contact and most favor. In all kinds of the parks, comprehensive park has its own advantages, such as the large area,multi-function, beautiful environment and retaining a large number ofnatural landscape. With the development of economy, the construction ofcomprehensive parks is paid much attention, also the number and the areaof comprehensive parks in every city are greatly increased. However, withthe rapid park construction, the design of mountainous city comprehensiveparks has a lot of copy of the design patterns in plain city parks, as aresult of the mountain environment’s damage and mountain city parks losingmountain features. Also with the more and more abundant life of urbanresidents, the increased leisure awareness, the increased leisure time andthe more free open of comprehensive parks, comprehensive parks arefrequently used. Therefore, the number of visitors to the park is greatlyincreased than before, visitors’ activities are more rich, time ofactivities is also extended. In the construction of mountainous citycomprehensive parks, aiming at mountain environment and highlighting themountain features, how to meet the changing public use and meet the needsof visitors is the most important issue of the mountainous citycomprehensive parks’ design.Since the comprehensive park is a popular and important one withtourists in urban green space, the park also has a special mountainenvironment. Then it should strengthen research on mountainous citycomprehensive parks, especially the mountain environment and touristactivities that concern the relationship between the tourist activities, mountain environment and the activity space. I hope this research cancontribute to the future design practices, so that the design andconstruction of activity space in mountainous city comprehensive parks canadapt to the mountain environment, meet the needs of visitors, improve thequality of urban environment and heritage mountain specialty purposes. Combined with theoretical research and the actual case, this papersummarizes the problems of the activity space in mountainous citycomprehensive parks, analyzes the characteristics of tourist activitiesand mountain environments, and proposed a series of design strategy aimedat the layout, space construction and detail design of activity space. This paper follows the " questions-analysis of the problem-solve theproblem," the logical sequence, the main content is divided into fivechapters. Chapter structure of this paper is as follows:The first part "Introduction" belongs the " questions " section. Thissection introduces the research background, purpose and meaning, contentand methods of research at home and abroad, and defines the relatedconcepts, finalized determine the research framework. The second part is the second chapter, Chapter III and ChapterIV,belonging to the " Analysis " section. The second chapter is an overviewof the development process and features in mountainous city comprehensiveparks and summarizes the current design problems in mountainous citycomprehensive parks during the theoretical study and practicalresearch. The third chapter analyzes activities for park visitors andmountain environment characteristics, mainly analyzes the relationshipbetween the classification of tourist activities, activities for venuerequirements, and the relationship and layout of activities; mountainenvironment analyzes and summarizes the main characteristics of the terrainand its characteristic spatial attributes, sight, microclimate, plants, natural water and drainage. The fourth chapter is a case study, analyzespart of the geographical overview of Chongqing, a major multi-purpose park, the layout of activity space, tourist activities, mountain environmentand the main activity space. The third part is the fifth chapter, belonging to the" solve the problem" section. Based on the foregoing research, aimed at the characteristicsof mountain environments and tourist activities, this part proposes thethree principles from people-oriented, meeting visitors’ activity rules, respecting topography, highlighting mountain features and protecting andusing mountain drainage process. Finally this part proposes three design strategies based on the layout of the activity space, space constructionand details of the design.
