The Finite Element Method (FEM) is a significant method to conduct themechanical analysis of gantry crane structure in pragmatic engineering analysis anddesign. However, the finite element modeling is a complicated and time-consumingprocess,and it is difficult for amateurs to do this. The calculation of component stabilityinvolves numerous parameters. It is difficult to accomplish the stability analysis of theindividual component complex in truss structure with manual calculation. Therefore, thestructure analysis becomes a bottleneck in the gantry crane design process. In order tosolve this problem, this thesis uses C#programming language to integrate FEA with thecalculation method based on Design Rules for Cranes and Crane Design Manual, anddevelopes a software to realize parameterized modeling and automated analysis.This thesis analyzes the finite element modeling process of gantry cranecomponents and extracts a group of parameters that can characterize the geometry andstructure. Furthermore, it establishes the model library of common structure in APDL,and drive parameters through the users interface that compiled by WPF, to realize thegantry crane components modeling. In addition, this thesis identifies the relativeposition of models and assembles them automatically, achieves all kinds of lattice typeand solid-web gantry crane structure finite element parametric modeling.Design rules for cranes GB/T3811-2008describes the calculation methodsstrength, stability of compressive components, stability of compression-flexuremembers and overall stability of compression-flexure component. This thesis combinesthese methods with post-processing of ANSYS in programming languages to developspecial program for gantry crane. This program can analyze the rationality of thestructures from strength, stiffness, stability and generate analysis report includinggraphics and text.This paper also embeds the crane design methods of the crane design manual in theC#programming, establishes a knowledge base included four modules: form control,structure proportion, mechanical analysis and the component design. It realizes theautomated selection of the suitable knowledge base according to technical requirements;and preliminary calculation crane stress distribution and model parameters. This systemcan cooperate with parametric modeling system to generate finite element model, andprovides guidance for the preliminary calculation to simplify the complicatedcalculating process.The second part represents the MH90gantry crane structure design and establishesfinite element model in this system and then examines the model using this topic development program so as to verify the validity and practicability of the system.
