Architectural Form Under The Influence Of The Fold Theory

Fold is a phenomenon in the nature environment, The Folding Theory is the corepart of the Deleuze’s philosophy theory system, and the corpus of differenceμ,andthe reflection of "one and the many" theory. This paper elaborate the enormousinfluence that aesthetics form of the nature herself by studying the process and reasonof the fold·s generation, evolution. Analyzing the entrainment in the creation ofarchitectural forms that the folds theory bring, We can peep the subtle change ofcontemporary architecture circles under influence of poststructuralist philosophyfrom a dot.This paper first described the theoretical purpose and significance of studing thefolds theory, and defined the research scope of this paper, raised the basic frameworkof the paper, presented research methods and principles of the paper. Secondly thispaper explained the Folding Theory and some concepts, elaborated the theoreticalimplications and aesthetic significance of the folds theory. This paper disscus therelationship between the whole city system and the architecture as soliton under theinvolvement of the folds theory by analyzing the impact on the overall form ofarchitecture. This paper proposed three architectural forms named landformarchitecture, folding in time and connected isolation which fused elements ofnatue,architectural context and urban civilization. Finally, this paper introduced thevariation of building body form after the affection of the folds theory,analyzed howthe folds theory fused the conflict and confrontation of architectural noumenon,summed up three architectural forms which named the smooth surface, blurring theboundaries of three separate and interactive variable which blend material elements,spatial elements and motion elements. When the folds theory is applied to the creationof contemporary architectural forms,the special idea not only contributed to theappearance of new design practices,but also convert the purpose from pursuit theoutcome to control progress.This paper summed up the variant of contemporary architectural forms inspiredby the Folding Theory, proposed the strategy to achieve this form and predicted therheological trend of the architectural forms, which under the folds theory ofpoststructuralist philosophy context,and located on the innovationg of architecturalforms.This paper provided a reference of the relationgship between architectural formand philosophy,and indicated a clear direction to the innovation of the architecturalforms.
