Under the background of rapid urbanization and more obvious socialstratification of the city, urban social-ecological systems become more and morecomplex. Leisure is one of the main functions of the city, its significance causedwidespread concern in planning and design of modern city. However, based on socialjustice, the recreational space system meeting the needs of all sectors has not beenestablished. Equitable urban community leisure space is an important aspect ofimproving the quality of the life of residents.This article proposed a method of the evaluation of urban communityrecreational space justice from the relationship between spatial deprivation and spatialjustice. According to the principle of community resource accessibility assessment,the study tried to summarize the principles of community recreation resourceaccessibility assessment and related evaluation methods, content, and evaluationindex for community recreation resource accessibility. Meanwhile,this article studiedthe case of three community in the southern suburbs of Xi’an using these methods andprinciples.The study concluded that the degree of difference of recreational resourceallocation among communities is the main factor affecting community recreationspace justice. If the differences of Recreational resource allocation amongcommunities are significant, resulting in rich and poor communities recreational space"polarization" phenomenon, space deprivation will be produced. Then the communityrecreational space is injustice.
