Road surfaces of snow and ice have a huge impact on road traffic safety. Artificialmechanical deicing and snowmelt agent are used to road and bridge deck deicing at present.Along with many years of using snowmelt agent, corrosion in structures and environmentpollution are destroyed very obvious. Mechanical deicing is usually used with snowmelt agent. The cohesive force between ice layer and road leads to the difficulty of removing icethoroughly. In addition to, deicing equipment also brings a certain of road destruction. In order to solve the problem of winter snow melting completely and effectively, theapplication of composite electrically conductive concrete for road and bridge deck deicingtechnology is studied in this paper. The material containing conductive particles (graphite, carbon black), conductive fibers (carbon fiber, steel fiber) and conductive aggregate (steelshaving, steel slag) is added to concrete to form composite conductive concrete with lowresistivity. In this paper, based on a study on the conductive properties of steel fiber, carbon fiber, and steel fiber-graphite conductive concrete, a three-phase composite conductive concretewith the carbon and steel fibers, as well as graphite, is proposed. To achieve low resistivityand sufficient strength, the mix proportions and preparation techniques of the three-phasecomposite conductive concrete are studied.Three-phase composite conductive concrete effectively reduces the content of carbonfiber, avoiding the large carbon fiber content in the concrete results cluster and waste, especially decreases the cost of conductive concrete with the expensive price of carbon fiber. At the same time, the use of graphite and steel fiber not only decrease the resistivity, butguarantee the mechanical strength of conductive concrete. The research of abrasion resistanceand freeze resistance shows reliable pavement performance of three-phase compositeconductive concrete. The heat effects of this concrete are verified through a heatingexperiment with different power density. The optimal mix contains0.8%volume fraction ofsteel fiber,0.4%volume fraction of carbon fiber, and3%content of graphite. Through theestablishment of ANSYS finite element analysis model, and fitting with heating tests,three-phase composite conductive concrete is used to simulate the effect of snow-melting ordeicing under different environment.Especially, at an ambient temperature of-15℃, wind speed at level7and below, and a2cm thick new snow covered road, the surface temperature of8cm thick three-phase composite conductive concrete slab rises to1.0℃within2hours with inputting a powerdensity of1008W/m2.Through the construction of experimental road, the construction technology andelectrode layout method of three-phase composite conductive concrete are studied.Meanwhile, its economy of snow-melting or deicing is also analyzed. The three-phasecomposite conductive concrete presents a good application prospect.
