The cement emulsified asphalt concrete is a new kind of semi-flexible pavementmaterials made by cement, emulsified asphalt, aggregate and admixtures through mixing. Thematerial has properties of good workability, high early strength and fine durability, whichcombines the advantages of cement concrete and asphalt mixture, thus has a very broadapplication prospects. Based on the correlated domestic and overseas researching results, thispaper systematically researched the mix design, physical mechanics property, pavementperformance, durability, applied technology and mechanism of strength of cement emulsifiedasphalt concrete by theoretical analysis and experimental study. The microscopic structure ofthe early strength cement emulsified asphalt concrete was also studied through the SEMmodern analysis method, providing an important reference for the development of thismaterial.This paper studied the co-adaptation of cementing material, emulsified asphalt, aggregateand admixture in the early strength cement emulsified asphalt concrete, revealing the rule ofinfluence of preparation parameters such as composition materials, water-cement ratio andsand ratio on the early strength cement emulsified asphalt concrete’s physical and mechanicalproperties, pavement performance and durability. Thus determined the range of raw materialsand key parameters, and put forward the mix design method of the early strength cementemulsified asphalt concrete.The strength of the early strength cement emulsified asphalt concrete is formed by thecombined effect of cementing materials and emulsified asphalt. The cementing materialplayed a major role on the early strength, high temperature performance and water stability inthe formation of strength.While emulsified asphalt formed a network-like structure in theearly strength cement emulsified asphalt concrete to provide flexibility and toughness for thematerials.The SEM results show that the residual asphalt and aggregate, unhydrated cement incement emulsified asphalt slurry involvement and form a space network. The slurry has manyinternal pores and its surface is uneven. This structure is consistent with characteristics ofearly-strength cement emulsified asphalt concrete semi-flexible material.
