With continuous improvement of the engines strengthen level, the problem that thecomponents of cooling system can’t match well and the coolant temperature is exorbitant. Therefore, it is key to resolve cooling performance at high-powered density that the coolingsystem matches and optimizes with engine. It not only can ensure that the engine works in themost appropriate range of temperature, but also improve the efficiency of the cooling systemand engine’s performance effectively.Based on the simulation, the cooling performance forthe cooling system of a vehicle engine named L416VSOHC were analyzed and researched inthis paper. The target is to provide a feasible and reliable method for the matching andexamination of engine cooling system. The main contents are as follows:(1) Analysis the engine cooling system and components design requirements. Introducethe effectiveness of the cooling system design. Then talk about the selection and designmethod of engine cooling system components. At last, select radiator, fan, water pumpaccording to the calculation of main parameter of matching.(2) According to the arrangements of the components of cooling system, theone-dimensional simulation model was established by AMESim and calibrated the model bythe data.(3) Demonstrate the correctness of the simulation model. Then change some parameterssuch as engine cooling jacket heat flux and pump speed based on the established calculationmodel.Get the influence of related parameters on the engine cooling system through thesimulation calculation and comparison.(4) Test if the cooling system can satisfy cooling requirements under different workingconditions and system parameters. At last, test the performance of the cooling system whenthe car woks in bad conditions.
