In recent years, with the rapid development of China’s economy, especially the rapiddevelopment of China’s tourism industry and attach importance to ecological protection,people do not just require the highway to travel to provide fast and convenient trafficconditions, also want to have an elegant and comfortable driving environment. Guangxiprovince has deep cultural heritage, coupled with the unique karst landforms, for people stravel provide a unique natural landscape and cultural environment. Therefore, it is of greatsignificance to highway landscape planning and design under Guangxi karst landformscondition.This article first defines the basic concepts of highway landscape design, and based onthe different types of materials and processing techniques for highway landscapeclassification. Based on the dynamic vision principles, summarized the driver dynamic visualphysiological characteristics, and to study the highway landscape dynamic visual impression.According to the landform, vegetational conditions, Humanistic environment and otherfactors associated to highway acrossed area, we tried to divide the highway longitudinaltheme into reasonable paragraphes by using the Relaxation theory and the combination ofdrivers’ visual characteristics.Based on the comprehensive analysis to highway landscape resources of Guangxiprovince Karst region, it is the use of the highway landscape elements conversion andcoordinated approach and the performance practices of landscape elements, with the considerto the internal coordination of highway landscape, to research the Karst region of Guangxiprovince highway landscape elements landscape planning and design, and for some landscapeelements in key areas, the paper made a detailed design and research.Finally, with three-dimensional software of UC-win/Road build highway landscapesimulation model, and satisfaction surveys to highway landscape elements designed. Weapplied our research result to Hechi to Du’an highway landscape programming and designingwith consideration of it’s actual constructing progress.
