The solar cell is the core component of the solar power. The five parameters (photocurrent, the reverse saturation current, ideality factor, series resistance and shunt resistance) are an important basis to measure the solar device performance. But these parameters are implied in the solar cell current-voltage equation. Since the equation is a complex nonlinear function, the parameters cannot be solved directly. So how to determine the five parameters more simply and accurately based on the current output of the solar cell according to the application of the current-voltage characteristic curve becomes an important direction.Based on previous studies, this paper does the following work:firstly, the paper analyzes and compares the analytical method with the significant function method, studies the pros and cons of methods extracting the solar cell parameters,and analyzes the error of the two methods. Secondly, the paper proposes four methods to extract parameters, the first method is based on three boundary conditions that solar cell photocurrent is much larger than the reverse saturation current, the shunt resistance is much larger than the series resistance and photocurrent is approximately equal to the negative short-circuit current, an analytical method for the extraction of solar cell parameters. The second method is based on the first analytical method, the third method is that the second derivative method combined with the Lambert-W function. The fourth method is based on the current output of solar cells and piecewise fitting based on the Lambert-W function, the current output equation significant, sub-fitting equation for integrating and thus the analytical solution solve each parameter. Thirdly, the paper analyzes and compares the advantages and disadvantages of the three methods to extract the parameters of the solar cell, and compares three methods of silicon single junction cell extracting parameters under different light intensity and angle of light. Fourthly, using the fourth method to extract the parameters of GaAs solar cells under different light, the paper analyzes the reason of the parameters’change with the angle of the light.This paper proposes four methods applied to experimental data regardless of the application or document data, and the fitting results are good. The paper tries to find a simpler, more accurate way to extract the results in the process of extracting the parameters. This study provides some theoretical guidance for the current methods extracting the solar cell parameters.
