Solar energy is a kind of new and clean energy and solar cell can convert solar energy into electricity. This paper firstly describes the main application of solar energy and the actualities of the solar cell at home and abroad and then simply introduces solar cell's work principle and gives the main parameter which describes the performance of solar cell. It also gives a brief introduction of solar cell's category, structure and producing technics.The paper gives priority to CIGS solar cell, carrying out theoretical calculation by predigesting the solar cell model, adopting matlab software to analyze the effect of solar cell's parameters on solar cell's performance (short-circuit current Jsc, open-circuit voltage Voc, the transfer efficiencyηand so on). The result of the calculation shows that solar cell's doping concentration of absorption layer exist an optimum value, in which the efficiency is the highest at the moment; the influence of grain size and film thickness on solar cell convert efficiency is prominent, but the influence can be ignored when grain size and film thickness reach some certain value. It can be explained from the perspective of physics mechanism, so it has important meanings in guiding technical production practice.Series resistance is an important element for power spoilage in solar cell. The paper gives the formula of series resistance of ZnO: Al/i-ZnO/CdS/CIGS solar cell. The result shows CIGS solar cells resistance of window layer, i-ZnO layer resistance and CIGS resistance mainly constitutes the main series resistance.The paper analyzes the structure of heterojunction of solar cell energy band and discusses the effect of conduction band offset of window layer/CIGS on solar cells performance, proposing several ideas to improve the structure of solar cell, such as optimizing its performance by adding a buffer layer, improving its transfer efficiency, changing the substrate in order to enhance a broader application of solar cell.In the end, the author summarizes the main task and proposes some expectation on the paper.
