This paper deeply analyzes the significance and existingproblems of modern appliances in life through the investigation of electricsteamer in home and abroad. And it conducts a research on how smallhousehold electrical appliances meets the need for modern family life, howthey adapt to the change of purchasing means in the market, and how theyrespond to the development trend of promoting energy-saving society. Thepaper also makes a research on how to apply various elements in humanfactors engineering into practical projects. Small kitchen appliances havedrawn people’s attention recently. Technologies such as electroopticaltechnology, computer and automatical control technology, far infraredtechnology, remote sensing technology, remote control technology have beenused in concentrated areas where household electrical appliances are usedin family life. For this phenomenon, this paper aims to study all the elementsin the kitchen from an overall perspective. Meanwhile, through the existingtechnology and diverse resources, a research on optimization and integrationof the appliances is also carried on in this paper. In accordance with thetheory of “theory guide practice”, the paper firstly gives an overview aboutthe principle of electrooptical technology used in family environment andhousehold electric appliance design, then guides the practical work in thelatter part of the paper. And through the analysis of electric steamer, thepaper puts forward ideas about structure of modern electric steamer tomeet the innovative goals and improvement direction with reasonabledivision, then forms theory basis. It creates different styles of combination tolower product costs and shorten the period of produce, and it adopts theidea of green and humanized design to explore the designing of electricsteamer, aiming to increase efficiency and competitiveness of kitchenhousehold appliances, keeping a good development prospect. At the sametime, in order to break the traditional way people use electric steamer and meet the need for high-quality, this paper conducts a research on existingproducts and key technologies and elements of new type of muti-functionalelectric steamer, analyzing the trend of the development of electric steamerand how to take advantage of modern technology effectively, carrying on theinnovative design cases according to the guideline of designing principle andtheory.
