Because of the special features of the buildings, which decided their complexityand dynamic nature in terms of fire safety, lighting, heating and ventilation, buildingstructures and so on. These characteristics determines that the engineering change isinevitable, engineering change has a big impact on contract period and the contractprice. Currently, the engineering change management focus on the implementationphase and lack of the design phase engineering change management. Also the existingproblems are: the information management tools are behind, the organization andcoordination between project participants are difficult etc. The Building InformationModel technology leads into the engineering change management, which contributesto the engineering change effective management and dynamic control. The mainresearch contents are:○1This thesis by referencing large number of literatures, according to the statusof domestic engineering change management, first analyzes the causes of engineeringchange and the main problems of change management. Propose the introduction ofBIM technology to solve these problems. BIM technology has many functions, suchas parameterization, visualization, collaborative design, collision detection,construction information dynamic tracking, BIM information exchange platform andetc. These functions can achieve the dynamic management of engineering change.○2Analyzes the need functions of BIM in the engineering change management,studied how the construction information associated with the3D model based onBIM, and build a4D model based on BIM application in the engineering changemanagement system framework. Using the4D model to achieve dynamicmanagement of engineering change.○3By way of case study shows that4D model feasibility in engineering changemanagement. Through creating a3D model, it is concluded that the3D parametricdesign can improve the quality of design, can reduce the occurrence of wrong touchof leakage. the establishment of the4D model realized the change informationdynamic management. BIM information platform to effectively solve the communication problems between the project participants, can ensure the reliabilityof information transmission. So as to effectively reduce the unnecessary engineeringchange and control in advance.
