Bus stations design is a part of urban public bus system, with the function ofdistributing passengers. It also provides better comfort and convenience service onpublic transport. Optimizing the bus stations design can improve the quality andefficiency of city transportation, ensure the quality of transport operation and promotefurther development of city environment.This study analyzes the expected demand characteristics of bus stops and putforward some problems on urban planning and construction, as well as economicmanagement. Discuss the overall arrangement about bus stations from three aspects-macro, medium and micro-levels. In addition, use GISS spatial analytical method tooptimize station spacing, locations and design. Specifically, take north Goose Pagodaroad and construction cross road in Xi’an province as the empirical analysis.1)This study analyzes not only the characteristics of parked vehicles, guest upand down time, but also the requirement about infrastructure resource, which foundthat the distance between two bus stops is overlength. Spending a long time bychanging buses is also an issue in city planning and construction. Moreover, the otherproblems are unreasonably central stop settings, economic management leaks andsimple devices.2)This article establishes the optimization mode of the average bus station, basedon the bus number limitation, analyzes optimizing factors of bus station settings andpattern, discusses stopping points and cross site selection, and compares theorthoscopic bus stops mode with the harbor-shaped bus stop mode. Additionally,through figuring out bus stop traffic capacity, the paper discusses the distancebetween each bus station.3)This study applies GIS in bus station optimal design, through remote sensingtechniques and field research obtaining essential data of optimized bus stop. Thedistance of bus station, traffic flow, central distance is used in constructing bus stationspatial optimization model. Analyze the spatial distance between eight bus stations innorth Goose Pagoda road and construction cross road. One of these bus stations is locality optimized and compared with what was before. It helps provide reference forestablishing optimized bus stop.
