Research On Thought And Practice Of Western Ecological Community Planning And Design

Community is the material carrier of people’s daily life and an important partof city space. Facing reduced resources, deterioration of the environment, crowdedhouses, traffic jams and employment difficulties caused by rapid city changes, thedesign of ecological community is being paid more and more attention to. Thediscussions on the ecological community design have promoted the developmentof related theories, and also contribute to complexity of the idea. Ecologicalcommunity design would be only on surface except basing on the specific concept.Ecological community design is a way to realize ecological community.Byclarifing the concept and related ideas of contemporary ecological communitydesign, reviewing the development progress of it and summarizing design featuresof it, we can get a comprehensive understanding of its design objectives, princi plesand methods. On the basis of these studies, references and inspirations could befurther put forward to ecological community design in our country. Summary,comparison and classification on the research object are the main research methodsof this thesis. The transformation of technological ethics and ecology ethics basedon three kinds of different values is a driving factor of the concept development ofwestern ecological community design, while the contemporary western ecologicalcommunity design shows some tendencies: natural ecology oriented, artificialecological oriented and multiple compound oriented under the guidance of designconcept. After half a century of exploration and accumulation, contemporarywestern ecological community design gradually revealing trends from qualitativeto quantitative design, from elements design to system design, from large scaleconstruction to detail development. It also embodies advantages includingprogressiveness driven by technology revolution, diversity caused by geographicalenvironment, comprehensiveness contributed to discipline integration andsystematicness for system researches and exposes its problems,such as expensiveecology caused by high technology and resource occupation caused by highstandard. Based on the contemporary western ecological community design research,the thesis finally concludes what should be paid attention to in our country inecological community design work: the diversity of the target, the integration ofdesign content, the corresponding of geographic information and therationalization of technology choice.
