As an important component of non-traditional machining, EDM plays a significant role in the mold manufacturing industry, military area, aerospace industry and other manufacturing fields. Nowadays, Chinese electro-machining enterprises is developing rapidly, and the number of enterprises is more and more. However, the electro-machining industry still lacks of competitiveness. With the introduction and development of cloud manufacturing and the implementation of "Made in China 2025" strategy, "Manufacturing as a service" concept has gained concern and recognition in manufacturing area, which also provides a feasible idea to address the development problem of electro-machining industry.This paper, aimed at EDM, from the user perspective and practical difficulties in the industry, introduced the idea of cloud manufacturing to EDM and proposed the idea of intelligent cloud platform. The main research contents of this paper include:System structure of EDM cloud platform was established, and all levels of function were analyzed. On this basis, role relationship, operating principles, cloud services and others of cloud platform were studied.Key technologies of EDM cloud platform, such as resource virtualization and encapsulation, resource storage and management, searching and matching algorithm of resource data and database’s design and access were studied.According to the process design of EDM, an intelligent decision system including processing method decision-making, machining equipment decision-making and process parameters decision-making was determined. Hierarchical division and function modules of intelligent decision system were studied.This paper summarized the selection rules of EDM methods, and studied the method-decision algorithm based on the selection rules. Then, this paper illuminated the decision prototype of processing equipment and process parameters by an example of WEDM. The paper summarized the WEDM machines and their main technological parameters, and researched the decision algorithm of machine based on that summary. The machining indexes and influencing factors of WEDM were analyzed, on this basis, the process of WEDM machining parameters decision-making based on fuzzy reasoning algorithm was researched. |
