With industrial development and social progress, machinery and equipment for oil products rising performance requirements, social requirements of environmental protection is also growing. Development of oil industry increasingly inclined high-performance and environmentally friendly synthetic direction. Poly-α- olefin synthetic oil is a synthetic oil for all categories of the most widely used.α- olefin polymer produced by the PAO has a special molecular structure and neat compared to mineral oil has a significant advantage in the viscosity index, high temperature performance. These properties are mainly dependent on the polymerization process of PAO. The oxidation resistance and light stability depend on the hydrogenation process. Hydrogenation process of PAO life and appearance plays a vital role.Lanzhou Lubricants Plant poly-α- olefin synthetic oil(PAO)of PetroChina is the main means of PAO production plant in China, its major products with foreign advanced level there is a certain gap.Existing product appearance yellowish, light stability is poor, light easy to change color. Rotating bomb and bromine analysis with foreign products, the gap significantly. In this study, focusing on PAO hydrogenation process, the choice of the hydrogenation conditions and hydrogenation catalyst to conduct investigations. Lanzhou Lubricants Plant PAO4 and PAO40 hydrogenation effect evaluation of new technology. The experimental results show, SD-2 is ideal for hydrotreating catalyst hydrogenation apparatus Lanzhou PAO system. And were obtained PAO4, PAO40 use SD-2 hydrotreating catalyst optimum conditions. PAO products obtained under these conditions, the rotating bomb, bromine and light experiments have reached the advanced level.
