Based on the background of the rapid development of the custom class furniture, the paper takes the modern integral ambry as the research object and the visual form of product as the breakthrough point. With introducing the kansei engineering technology as the research method, it quantifies the perceptual image of integral ambry to explore the relationship between the image semantics and visual form of product with the purpose of providing theory support for the design of integral ambry.Based on principle and basic composition of visual form, the paper puts forward six representative visual shape elements of integral ambry:handle, door decoration, size, space combination, main color and main material, and then subdivides it into 20 categories. According to the basic principle and method of kansei engineering, the paper builds the perceptual evaluation model, the integral ambry visual space, the semantic space and the connection between image semantics and integral ambry visual shape elements. The principles and methods in qualitative and quantitative evaluation of integral ambry are made sure.The cluster analysis and factor analysis are used to pick out 20 representative samples of integral ambry and 5 representative image vocabulary, including:stingy-magnificent, frivolous-steady, non-practical-practical, unqualitiable-qualitiable, complex-concise in corresponding to five design factors:modeling, emotion, efficacy, affinity and decoration. The factor analysis is uesd to do the perceptual evaluation experiment. From the perceptual evaluation scores it can be found that the value between men and women have the same trend, but women’s evaluation scores are generally less than men’s. The value of professional and unprofessional groups are significantly different:professional group evaluation scores are lower than the unprofessional one, that is,the professional group has a stricter standard in evaluation. Quantification theory type I is used to build the relationship between image semantics and integral ambry visual shape elements, it can be found that the visual forms come to be:size, color, space combination, door decoration, and door decoration.Software SPSS is used to do the multiple regression analysis, then build a perceptual model for prediction of the five common factors. Software R is used to optimize the five prediction models, then get the visual shape element combination results of each or more common factors when achieve the optimal perceptual image and put forward suggestions for the optimization. Again, using the multiple regression method to establish the overall perceptual evaluation prediction model, the order of the five common factors that impacts the overall evaluation is: affinity factor, emotional factor, shape factor, emotional factor,and decorative factor. Overall prediction model is optimized to obtain the visual shape element combination results when achieve the overall optimal perceptual, then put forward suggestions for the optimization. It can be used as a theory basis of design scheme selection for companies and designers.
