The feeding safety and measurement accuracy of various solid gunpowder components are the key to ensure the safety of powder production and to improve the quality of gunpowder. In this paper, the flowability of RDX, AP and NQ powder in solid propellants were studied, then a reasonable structure according to the flow property of RDX, AP and NQ powder were designed. Secondly, the feeding bin designed by the RDX powder’s flowability used in the RDX powder safe and continuous feeding and metering device for RDX powder feeding and measurement research. In the end, the feeding and measuring of the solid propellant component NC was studied by using the NC safe and continuous feeding and metering device. The specific research contents are as follows:Firstly, The flowability of the solid propellant components contains RDX powder, AP powder, NQ powder were studied using the powder flow tester. The flow parameters of three solid gunpowder components were tested.The reasonable structure of bin of three solid gunpowder components are designed according to the flow parameters of three solid propellant components.Secondly, the RDX powder feeding safety and continuous metering device named electronic belt scale was designed, the bin of which was designed based on the RDX powder’s flowability. The electronic belt was used to carry out the RDX, the weight loss measurement principle was used to measure the RDX. The electronic belt scale of RDX powder controled by remote computer. The test results show that the metering feeding device can meter and dose safety and continuously of RDX powder, and the measurement error is within 1.0%, and the process of feeding RDX powder is uniform and continuous, the clogging does not occur in the bin.Thirdly, the microwave concentration meter, the electromagnetic flowmeter and the DCS system were used to consist the safety and continuous feeding and metering device of NC, the absolute dry weight of NC was measured through the device, the experimental results indicate that the device is running stable and the absolute dry weight measurement error of NC is less than 1.5%.
