| Ru, Jun, Guan, Ge and Ding porcelains are five famous ceramics in Song Dynasty. Scientists have done various studies on five famous Song Dynasty porcelains by modern experimental means and achieved some important results. But there is a little studies of imitation ceramics produced in modern kilns. In order to explore the artistic features of modern antique porcelain, we study the features of a number of modern melamin ceramic samples using modern analysis techniques. Then compared them to ancient ceramic samples. In this paper, the porcelain were analyzed in the Physical Properties, Reflectance Spectroscopy, Metalloscope, X-ray Diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Energy dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy. We got the following conclusions:The porosity and water absorption of imitation Jun porcelain samples is higher than Jun Official poercelain samples. The porosity and water absorption of imitation Ru porcelain samples is little than ancient Ru poercelain samples. The porosity and water absorption of imitation Ge and Guan porcelain samples are relatively large. The porosity and water absorption of imitation Ding porcelain samples is very small. In addition to a large number, others are less than 0.6%.Using reflection curve represents the reflection characteristic of glaze sample. The reflection curve of morden imitation porcelain and ancient porcelain samples are very different. The reflectance of normal imitation Ru porcelain is biger than ancient Ru porcelain. But the reflectance of imitation Ru porcelain which did the old process is relatively low. Other glaze samples’ reflection curve also have their own characteristics.Under the metalloscope we find that the surfaces of modern imitation porcelain and the ancient porcelain are quite different. The surfaces of imitation porcelain are very clean without nick. Even if done old imitation porcelain samples, there are only a little light scratches on there surface. But on the surface of ancient porcelain samples, there are a lot of messy and clear scratches.X-ray diffraction is used to analyze the phase composition of imitation porcelain samples. In these imitation porcelain mainly containing unfused quartz, ?-Silicon Oxide, mullite and sillimanite and mostly do not have cristobalite. Jun Official ware samples contain instability mullite, unfused quartz and cristobalite structure. There is only unfused quartz and instability mullite structure in ancient Ge and Guan porcelain samples. We Compared the chemical composition of imitation porcelain and ancient porcelain. The difference between imitation Jun porcelain and ancient Jun porcelain is very small. The chemical composition of imitation Guan porcelain, Ding porcelain are very different with corresponding imitation porcelain. There are herringbone mullite crystals in imitation Jun porcelain body samples and a good arranged crystals structure in glaze samples. The imitation Ru porcelain glaze samples have network mullite crystals of feldspar glass phase. In imitation Ge porcelain glaze samples, there are herringbone mullite crystals growing well and neatly arranged. In imitation Guan porcelain glaze layer has some crystals which like diopside crystal. There are significantly short needle-like calcium feldspar crystals in imitation Ding porcelain glaze layer. But crystal shape relatively simple. |
