With the development of human society, as economic growth, water ecological environment of river has also been serious damaged in a certain degree, to find a reasonable and effective way to restore the water ecological environment of the river has become a hot spot of current research. Higher aquatic plants purifying water has a advantage of small secondary pollution, low cost and so on. In higher aquatic plants, submerged plants are the basis of diversity of water and water purification biological functions,as well as submerged plants can also inhibit the growth of phytoplankton and algae, in a result, improving water quality and cleaning up polluted water. Therefore, in order to Taizi River in Benxi section of the research area, to carry out the research on water purification about submerged plants, which has some guidance and practical significance water ecological restoration of the region of the river. The study based on the survey of submerged plants distribution segment Taizi River in Benxi section, selecting four kinds of submerged plant dominant species in the river:black algae, Myriophyllum, Ceratophyllum, Potamogeton grass, meanwhile, selecting four indicators COD, NH3-N, TP, TN, study their purification under different concentrations of water purification, and study of their own physical characteristic changes in natural light and differernt water temperature,at last selecting promotion pioneer species of Taizi River in Benxi section:Hydrilla P.crispus and experimental results show that the growth conditions of two plants, in line with most Taizi River basin water temperature range, while for the water pollutant removal rate of a larger, black algae for removal TP’s best P.crispus of COD, NH3-N, TN removal efficiency of the best, and in low temperature P.crispus can still survive in winter. Therefore, P. crispus and Hydrilla verticillata widely selected as the future of submerged plants.
