Rotary drill rig is an important equipment in the open-pit mining industry, the drilling efficiency influences the output of mining directly. Rod-feed mechanism is a part of drill rack device, mainly used for sending and unloading drilling rod, to guarantee the normal operation of drilling rig. Rod-feed mechanism is working during the whole process of rotary drill rig. Therefore, it is of great significance to select different forms rod-feed mechanism for different types rotary drill rig, and ensure the strength and stiffness of rod-feed mechanism. In this paper, combined with the subject required, the rod-feed mechanism has been studied, The main contents are as follows:1. The main parts of rotary drill rig and the working principle of commonly used rod-feed mechanism were compared. According to the research on rotary drill rig,combining with the advantages and disadvantages of different rod-feed mechanism,selecting the reasonable rod-feed mechanism as the research object.2. According to the requirement of the drilling frame structure, to design the key parameters of rod-feed mechanism and space layout, establish the 3d model. Which mainly includes: the improvement of drilling frame structure, the determination of linkage effective length, the determination of the lever arm length parameters and the selection of hydraulic oil cylinder, etc.3. The multi-rigid-body dynamics model of rod-feed mechanism was built by using the dynamics simulation software ADAMS, and the model was simulated and analyzed.We got the maximum force data of lever arms from simulation results. The strength and stiffness of lever arms were analyzed by using the software ANSYS Workbench, and checking the results of the analysis.4. The rigid-flexible coupling model of rod-feed mechanism was established by usingthe software ANSYS and ADAMS. Firstly, the finite element model of the upper and lower lever arms established by using the software ANSYS, then the modal neutral file(.MNF) was exported. Secondly, the modal neutral file was imported into the software ADAMS, the rigid-flexible coupling model was simulated, then the load file(.LOD) was exported. Finally, the load file was imported into the software ANSYS, the stress and deformation of the upper lever arm and lower lever arm were studied. The improvement measures of lever arms were proposed according to the results of the analysis.
