With the rapid development of China’s economy, the demand of various kinds of mineral resources has increased continually. The coal resources, as one of the main energy sources in China, has been increasingly used. The coal resources in China mainly comes from underground mining. Our country has attached great importance to the safety of coal production over the years.,so the personnel positioning system, air pressure self-help system, monitoring system, communication contact system, water rescue system and emergency rescue system has been set up.The most important is the system for underground personnel management, positioning, tracking, and emergency response to unexpected incidents accident. Because of the late start in China, there are many problems in the system stability. Therefore, it is very important to further study the underground personnel positioning system.Based on CAN field bus, this thesis designs and realizes the personnel positioning system in Guizhou, which is used in the five round mountain coal industry Co., Ltd. This thesis has completed the following aspects:(1) In this thesis, the system’s demand is analyzed based on CAN field bus technology, network communication technology and software design technology. The working principle of the system is analyzed, and the network structure and the overall structure of the system are designed.On the personnel positioning system architecture design, case design and performance analysis of personnel location system design, data flow, data flow, including a top security access and query the data flow diagram.(2) The design and technical index of industrial network structure is studied, and the structure and application of CAN are designed. Respectively on the system of surface and the underground module design, focusing on analysis of the overall structure of the PC system, function module and division, and finally on the system to design the data management process.(3) Depending on the application and design results of the design, performance results illustrate the configuration of systems and equipment, the personnel information collection and underground communications network functional modules, establishing communication networks and data acquisition system; The functions of the personnel tracking, personnel, the regional real time display, the personnel positioning and the track inquiry function are realized.
