This article review focuses on the hard capsule-filling machine, introducing its working process and elaborates the working principle. Filling process can be divided into the filling capsule, separate capsule, eliminate waste capsule, filling powder, closing capsule, finished product launch, and clear module. In addition, the slewing mechanism of plate cam is the key components that complete the action process in control module group, but there are so many problems when plate cam design scheme of the original apply to the new type filling machine. For example, vibration, powder filling quantity is not accurate, capsule yield reduction, the machine run large noise, etc. Therefore, through the analysis of the problems that existed to improve the original design optimization, mainly for plate cam’s inside and outside contour track, to improves and design optimization, and elevate the rate of finished capsule.Firstly, the analysis of the internal contour curve’s raw data. The original design method is by connecting to a limited number of points to draw the contour curve, this kind of method draws the curve, which appears in much sharp point, making it not slippery enough. This article will use the commonly cam curve equation of original data for curve fitting, use MATLAB software to draw the equation of the curve, compare with the original contour curve, get the reasonable curve fitting equation, and it will avoid the sharp point appearing in contour curve. Furthermore, UG/motion simulation will be used to find the optimal curve equation according to the follower motion velocity and acceleration curve in the process. Secondly, the design of outside the plate cam contour track will be improved, the original design scheme about closed track turns to a geometric closed track, and avoid using spring, reduce the vibration when the machine is running. Modeling, analysis, and motion simulation by UG, determines the width of cam’s track, and ensures the bearing does not jump when it’s running in the track. Thirdly, it will analyze the outer contour track groove’s force, and determine the thickness of the upper and lower wall of the outer contour track groove, guarantees withstand impact when it’s running, At the same time, through the result analysis, it assures the thickness of the plate cam size, and completes the optimal design of two-plate cam contour curve finally.In this paper, hard capsule filling machine plate cam is regarded as the key component of the research object, in order to solve existing problems, it optimize the design of the contour curve, based on the original plate cam design scheme, making the rate of finished capsule rise up to 99.9% of the new model capsule filling machine.
