A Brief Analysis Of Inspiration Of Clothing Design From " I Ching " Culture

Five thousand years of Chinese civilization has a long history, gave birth to a rich culture. More and more designers get inspiration from Chinese traditional culture, and integrate it into the design works. In this way, it not only carries forward the traditional culture, but also makes design works full of profound connotation."Book of Changes", as an book emboding the wisdom of ancient Chinese sages, contains rich cultural philosophizing, design ideas,and thinking approach, "images of I Ching" and "truth of I Ching" is used in clothing design process in this article, which exploring a new design method.Firstly, this paper introduces the concept of the I Ching and its links with costume design.Making it clear the change is the focus on the costume design process,like the change in the I Ching. This paper researches on the topic of change of clothing, making "truth of I Ching" as the innovation of fashion design theme. Next, it introduces the taking appearance and expressing appearance approaches of the I Ching, and how these two techniques are used in clothing design. Finally, this paper introduces the design ideas of costume, which is divided into three steps: Firstly, making a clear design theme,that is "truth of I Ching".Secondly, taking appearch from nature fitting the theme;.Thirdly, manifesting the theme through clothing by using the approach of expressing appearance in I Ching.
