A Study Of The Ecological Crisis And Ecological Civ Ilization Construction In Minqin Country

Ecological environment is the foundation of human existence and social development. Since the 1950 s, with the worsening of global ecological environment,ecological crisis has emerged constantly and human living environment has been damaged, which has been a serious threat to the sustainable development of human society. It was clearly put forward in the report of the 18 th CCP Congress that we must give high priority to making ecological progress and incorporate it into all aspects and the whole process of advancing economic, political, cultural, and social progress, in order to achieve a lasting and sustainable development of the Chinese nation and build a beautiful country. Minqin County is located in the northeast of the Hexi corridor in Gansu Province. It is a desert oasis region which belongs to the alluvial plain of the lower reaches of Shiyang river basin. It is one of the most arid countries and the desertification hazard is one of the most serious areas in the country and even the world. Minqin oasis area plays an important role in suppressing the ecological deterioration in Hexi corridor, Gansu province and even in north China and the whole country, although it is small. The deterioration of the natural environment has become a prominent factors of restricting the Minqin economic and social development and even threatenings the local people’s existence. In order to achieve economic, social and ecological sustainable development, it is necessary for Minqin to accelerate environmental protection and construction. Therefore, the study of the ecological environment of Minqin and ecological civilization construction is of great significance.This paper is divided into four parts. The first part begins with the concept and elements of ecology, the value of ecological security, the relationship between ecological security, human survival and development, and many other aspects. It discusses the importance of ecological security from economic, political, cultural, and social aspects. The second part describes that this desert oasis was abundant water in the past time; Minqin ecological degradation process of historical change; the consequences of ecological deterioration; a deep analysis of the process of ecological deterioration in Minqin County from the perspective of of local history.The third part discusses the reasons of the ecological deterioration in Minqin from two aspects of objective and subjective factors. The local people’s unreasonable ecological behavior, economic behavior and social behavior for a long time are the main factors causing ecological deterioration in Minqin County.The fourth part focuses on measures of the Minqin ecological security barrier construction,specifically, to strengthen the construction by the national ecological protection education, to implement economic development and ecological protection; to strengthen the ecological security barrier protection of Minqin oasis and promote the construction of ecological civilization by scientific development, effective governance.
