The Research And Application Of Image Technology In Garment Design

Art is intimately associated with social development and they are interacting with each other at the same time. As a special form exists, art belongs to the superstructure of social development, which is the combination of economic and social status. From the perspective of garment, differences of fabrics or design in each period, to a certain extent, can fully reflect the rise and fall of society. Along with the rapid social development and expansion, Chinese garment industry gradually exhibit the oneness in its products, and increasingly fails to keep pace with the times. In response to the phenomenon, the rapid rise of China’s garment industry entails original inspiration, innovative design, environment-friendly raw materials and systematic management. Therefore, combining with the trend of fashion both at home and abroad in recent years, this design demonstrate a uniqueness from different aspects based upon the ideal combination of imaging techniques as well as interdisciplinary garment.According to its classification, imaging generally falls into two categories, traditional photography and digital photography, through the connotation of imaging with the development of imaging technology as the background. With digital imaging increasingly becoming the mainstream in the era of digital photography, traditional photography technology still has its irreplaceable advantages. Therefore, with traditional photography as theoretical guidance, this thesis introduces the features of traditional photography, mode of recording, producing procedures, etc. In order to fulfill the interdisciplinary technical innovation and exploration, it combines traditional darkroom technology and gets it integrated into the practice of garment design. In addition, a brief overview is presented in the first part about the status quo of the application of imaging techniques both at home and abroad in painting, science and technology, and other fields; then the application of imaging technology in garment both at home and abroad was analyzed and summarized, so as to present a panorama of the application status quo of imaging techniques in different fields.In this garment design, an effective analysis and research were conducted on the transition from traditional to modern imaging techniques. First of all, the connection between traditional imaging technique and garment was analyzed from production procedure,developing materials and garment materials. At the same time, the spotlight and innovation of the thesis include: the involvement of diverse advantages and features of traditional imaging techniques; innovative replacement of traditional paper image carriers with new fabrics;secondly, on the basis above, a comparison was conducted between the fabric performance and special performance of common garment materials, such as softness, waterproof and moisture resistance, acid-alkaline proof property, etc. to select the garment material most suitable for imaging techniques; in addition, an experiment and analysis were done in terms of photographic light-sensitive materials, exposure time and pattern change between new fabric and traditional photography, in an effort to discover the ideal enhancement effect. Finally, it is hoped that through various exploration and research it might be of some help for the application of imaging technology in the field of garment.
