With the improvement of modern living standards and the development of high-technology, Chinese highway presents a growing trend, and a series of traffic noise problems have becomed a major issue in the world, therefore, it’s important to develop road noise barrier absorption materials.Non-woven fabric has many holes, it has soft, flexible, wide range of raw materials, widely used of products, short process, multiple process changes and high labor productivity characteristics. It is especially suitable for sound absorption materials. Therefore, non-woven sound-absorbing materials have broad prospects for development.This topic firstly bases on the analysis on the performance of fiber raw materials, the ordinary polyester fiber, hollow polyester fiber and a small amount of hot-melting fibers are used as raw materials to develop the road noise barrier non-woven fabrics. Then, non-woven fabrics are manufactured on the needle punched and hot calendered non-wovens production lines, the method of 3 factors 3 levels orthogonal test is adopted, with needling density 100stab/cm2, 120stab/cm2, 140stab/cm2, pre-needling depth 10 mm, 9mm, 8mm, blended ratio of fiber 40/60, 50/50, 60/40, to develop nine kinds of needle punched non-woven fabrics and a hot calendered non-woven fabric(needling density is 100stab/cm2, pre-needling depth is 10 mm, blended ratio of ordinary polyester/hollow polyester/hot-melting fiber is 40/50/10).Aiming at the 10 sets of non-woven fabrics, performances are tested and analysed, including the weight per square meter, thickness, tensile properties, air permeability, sound absorption and flame retardant properties. Through the orthogonal experiment method,the primary and secondary influence of three factors on the performances are studied. The sound absorption performance in different frequency bands is focus tested and analysed, the results show that the best sound absorption property is the second group of acupuncture non-woven fabric, the best process is needling density 100 stab/cm2, pre-needling depth 9mm, blended ratio of ordinary polyester fiber/hollow polyester fiber 50/50. Five samples are chosen from all non-woven fabrics. The best comprehensive properties of road noise barrier non-woven fabrics are determined by fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. The results show that the best comprehensive properties of road noise barrier non-wovens is the second group of acupuncture non-woven fabric.Single factor experiment and orthogonal experiment are adopted to find the road noise barrier non-wovens flame retardant finishing process, it is concluded that the optimum process parameter is flame retardant agent 30%, dipping temperature 100℃, dipping time 3h. GY-6488 flame retardant, NaOH aids, crosslinking agents, reducing chemical cleaning agents are used to finish the second group of acupuncture non-woven fabric.The fabric after flame retardant finishing is tested, including weight gain rate, tensile strength, flame retardant effect, sound absorption effect, and compared with the corresponding parameters before finishing, the comparisons reveal that flame retardants for fabric has good adhension, the strength basicly remains unchanged, the flame retardant fits the B1 national standard and the absorption effect is improved.
