An Empirical Analysis Of The Relationship Between Economic Growth And Environmental Pollution In Tianjin And Countermeasures Research

Tianjin is located in the center of the Bohai sea area, has a more powerful comprehensive strength, including industrial power is particularly strong. The speeding up of industrialization not only promoted the rapid development of Tianjin economy, also caused the production and living of the rapid increase of pollutant emissions, so as to make the environment facing the severe test of Tianjin. However, the deterioration of environment to the implementation of the strategy of the sustainable development of Tianjin increased the difficulty. Therefore, it is necessary for Tianjin to study the relationship between economic growth and environmental pollution.The extensive empirical research shows that economic growth can cause environmental pollution of different level, however, whether the economic growth will aggravate environmental pollution condition, economy and environment between interactive is benign or malignant, are according to the economic situation of the selected area and pollution index. According to the availability of data, this article selects 21 years of time-series data of Tianjin as an example to do empirical analysis, through the collection of Tianjin in 1990-2012 GDP per capita and measure environmental pollution level of representative data, set up Tianjin VAR model of economic growth and environmental pollution, and in building the VAR model, on the basis of the generalized impulse response and variance decomposition methods, to the economic growth and represents the level of environmental pollution indexes empirically, to analyze the Tianjin economic growth and the long-term equilibrium relationship between environmental pollution levels. The empirical results show that the Tianjin there is two-way between economic growth and environmental pollution mechanism, the influence of the system of economy and environment, the inverted u-shaped curve is not widespread, it varies because of the environmental indicators selected. At the same time, according to the results of air pollution in Tianjin is particularly severe in all sorts of pollution, according to the generalized impulse and variance decomposition, in the Tianjin economic development in the future should pay close attention to industrial waste gas, especially focusing on the industrial emissions of sulfur dioxide and governance, and strengthen the cooperation between the pollution of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, improve the long-term mechanism of air between the defense league. Then combined with the empirical results of this paper, through the interaction between economy and environment of Tianjin has carried on the reason analysis, and the future in Tianjin economic and environmental coordinated development put forward some countermeasures and Suggestions.
