Nowadays, laminated glass is widely used in building construction, such as glass curtain walls, building windows, glass doors, bathrooms and stadiums. More researches are focusing on the applied technology of architecture glass. In this work, we studied the factors influencing the impact-resistance of laminated glass, and discussed the feasible measures to improve anti-impact properties of laminated glass, based on the falling ball impact test and performance requirements of GB15763.3-2009named as "Architectural Safety Glass-Part3-Laminated Glass". This thesis reviews the progress of the factors affecting safety performance and the measures enhancing safety performance of the laminated glass. The effects of film material, film thickness, the adhesion between glass and film, and special treatments in glass fabrication on the stripping property of the laminated glass are summarized.Through the application of explicit dynamics method of the ANSYS Workbench Platform, we studied the stress, strain, deformation and transformation mechanism of the laminated glass in the falling ball impact test. By using geometrically nonlinear theory and large deformation theory, we obtained a reliable numerical simulation results for the laminated glass by fully considering the effects of PVB film layer, such as the nonlinear property of PVB film via the hyperelastic theory and the viscoelastic property via Maxwell model.By classifying and analyzing a large of sets of laminated glass falling ball impact testes, followed by theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, we studied the effects of the interlayer thickness, glass thickness, glass materials, laminated glass manufacturing processes and other factors on the impact peel performance of the laminated glass falling ball. Some feasible suggestions for possible ways to improve the safety performance of the laminated glass were provided. This work has an certain significance for the quality supervision department to supervise the quality as well as for the manufacturing enterprises to promote quality.
