The tailings is an important facility in the process of mine production,the tailings facility’s infrastructure investment accounted for about20%of the concentrator’s investment, accounted for more than10%of the mine total investment, is also a high potential energy of man-made debris flow.After more than ten years or even decades of time, all kinds of natural and man-made unreasonable factors threatening the safety of it. In recent years, the tailings accidents have occured from time to time, the tailings dam broken is a class accident that caused consequences is the most serious, most widely spread range, the most serious economic losses. Larger volume of tailings accumulation in the tailings, which may also contain heavy metal elements, with some tailing water contains a lot of beneficiation reagent didn’t volatile or degrade that may also contain toxic and harmful substances. Once the tailings dam failure accidents occured, a large number of tailings leaked will not only widespread cover up land farmland, endanger the safety of downstream residents, pollution of the river, if tailings contained heavy metal ions, may also cause heavy metal ions migration with the groundwater,soil properties changed. At the same time, may also caused an irreversible damage of reservoir environment, so as to lose a lot of land resources. So the research that the mechanism of the tailings dam failure is an extremely important thing for preventing tailings accident.In this paper, according to the existing literature, combined with tailings damm failure theory and the numerical simulation method, established the tailings dam break model, the reserach about the relationship between tailings migration state and the dam height when the tailings failure accident occured. And combined with Lizijing tailings dam to established three-dimensional model to study the movement of Lizijing tailings dam failure,eventually draw relevant conclusions. The main research results of this paper is as follows: (1)Analysis a large number of existing literature, analyses the reason of the tailings dam broken and dam failure mode, and according to the relevant hydraulics, fluid mechanics, the theoretical research of debris flow motion related theory method, combined with the unique properties of tailings,and established the tailings dam’s theoretical model.(2)Using the FLUENT software build the two-dimensional of Li Zijing tailings dam failure model,the study is about the relationship between different dam height and tailings migration velocity, shock pressure and submerged scope and submerged height in different time point.(3)Using FLUENT software, combined with Lizi Jing tailings’ actual situation building a three-dimensional model, analyze tailings migration speed, tailings migration velocity, shock pressure and submerged scope when Lizi Jing tailings tailings dam failure occured on different sections.According to the analysis results of Li Zijing tailings dam to judge the severity of dam failure’s consequences.(4)Based on evaluation results,come up with the technical prevention measures of the tailings dam accident, and provided the basis of the tailings dam failure accidents prevention.
