Diamond and other mineral resources, like non renewable resources, the storage is reducing day by day. In order to decrease the waste during processing, to increase diamond efficiency, find a rational design basis is necessary. Theoretically, design diamond depend on4C, carat, clarity, color and cut, but the final product are still likely to end up in the market, so based on market conditions, we need to design of product adapt to the demand of market.In this paper, through study of different crystal shapes of rough diamond, get the following conclusions:for the diamond in octahedral crystal shape, symmetric cutting should be done to get two products with different weights; the one in dodecahedron diamond crystal shape, symmetric sawing should be done to get two diamond in the same weight; because of the twin stitch in crystal twin, it’s difficult to process, in general, the design is special drill to make it less wear and tear in the processing. Different crystal shape is treated by various cutting methods, to maintain the weight, which is one of the purposes of processing. The round diamond’s weight=D(?)2×H×Cut ratio coefficient=D(?)3*DTH%*0.0061. The principal factors influencing diamond weight are diameter and total depth proportionThe final objective of diamond processing is what makes profit, the rough diamond with the same weight and level, can make more profit in less purchase price. Generally, the rough diamond with perfect crystal shape, inclusion-free and high color grade has higher price; adversely the price is low. Making the deficiencies in control in the rough diamond processing is one of the purposes of this dissertation.
