With technological development, high-precision and miniaturization have become a trend for a global manufacturing technology. In future production micro-machining methods with high-precision and high-efficiency become more and more important. Ultraprecision fly-cutting with diamond tool is manufacturing technology for the fabrication of microstructure with sub-micron surface finish and nano-surface form accuracy without the need for any subsequent post polishing, meanwhile it is powerful for complex structure processing. It reveals that more and more wide application prospect and important value in the optical area and machinery in the electronic field and biomedical fields and military area.This paper presents ultraprecision diamond fly-cutting in the domestic and international research and direction of development. Combined with a basic theory of micro-machining methods, the article analyses the micro end-milling considered the tool edge radius effect, and cutting thickness critical effect and ploughs cutting mechanism.Through the research of micro cutting mechanism is proposed considering cutting edge, arc radius of the effect of the fly-cutting with diamond tool. Introduces the creation process of fine scraps, expounds the minimum thickness of non resonant-type cutting, and through the analysis of stress for cutting area is deduced cutting theoretical formula of the minimum thickness of cutting parameter prediction and according to the minimum cutting depth.In this paper, the finite element software ABAQUS platform under Explicit module in ABAQUS/by dynamic analysis and Johnson-Cook material constitutive model and fracture failure model to determine the diamond cutting materials flying the constitutive equation, a finite element model of two-dimensional orthogonal cutting. Use any ALE arithmetic, Johnson-Cook Hardening model and shear failure criterion for different cutting edge of cutting tool radius of the thermodynamic simulation, further validation of diamond fly-cutting in minimum cutting depth forecasts.
