Highly charged ions (HCI) is one of the most important areas in plasma studies. It will promote the research in fundamental physics and astrophysics; in the meanwhile, it plays a key role in fusion research.Electron beam ion traps (EBIT) are devices which can be used both as a HCI source and as a HCI light source, making them excellent tools for studying highly charged ions.Various methods for injecting atoms or low charged ions into EBIT are needed.Knudsen Cell (abbr. K-CELL) is an atom-beam source that operated under high temperature and high vacuum circumstance. It is easy for control of the evaporation temperature and evaporation rates. So it is a proper way for injection of atoms into EBIT after some modify. This paper introduced a customized K-CELL which is used for EBITs in our laboratory. These improvements will be discussed in this thesis along the lines outlined below:1. Structural improvements:applying a 4-way pipeline with a 45-degree tilted baffle that has a small hole of diameter of 2mm on it. The special 4-way pipeline accompany with a special CF35-CF100 pipeline will shorten the totallength for injection, improve collimation and injection rates. At the same time, we customized the K-CELL source for our experiments.2. Inspection of the formula for injection rates:applying the method of coaching and measure the thickness of the coaching, the formula for injection rates was prove to be right. It can be used for a reference in the K-CELL injection.3. Connect K-CELL to EBIT:K-CELL was connected to the EBIT and injection several elements into EBIT. K-CELL was proved to work steady and of high reliability, and some new characters in the K-CELL injection was founded as a reference for the experiments.
