With its powerful spatial analysis capabilities and intuitive, real visualization ofspatial data and capability of demonstrating spatial relationships, Three-DimensionalGeographic Information System (3DGIS) is becoming an important direction ofdevelopment and research hotspot of GIS. Meanwhile, Three-Dimensional GIS ismore and more used in decision support and application analysis in urban planning,environmental protection, tourism development, battlefield simulation, disasterprediction and assessment, emergency rescue and other areas.Lijiang military sub-district is charged with earthquake relief, forest firefighting,emergency rescue and many other emergency tasks. The three-dimensionalgeographic information system of Lijiang City is capable of providing real, intuitivethree-dimensional scenes, powerful spatial analysis capabilities and perfect spatialdata processing capabilities, therefore it can provide decision assistance andinformation support to emergency commanders and emergency response teams in atimely and accurate manner, so as to provide information support for effectivelyorganizing earthquake relief, forest firefighting, emergency rescue and otheremergency missions.Starting from the actual needs of the project, this thesis designs and brings outThree-Dimensional Geographic Information System of Lijiang, and has mainly donesome job in the following areas:(1) Starting from the system design, this thesis describes acquisition andprocessing methods of the DEM, remote sensing images,3D model textures, basicvector data and attribute data, spatial data and attribute data, which are needed tobuild a three-dimensional GIS of Lijiang City. This thesis also realizes generatingnecessary marked basic vector data by acquiring Baidu Map POI.(2) This thesis systematically generates the architecture of Skyline softwareplatform, introduces TerraBuilder, TerraGate and TerraExplorer Pro in detail, does acomparative analysis to domestic and international mainstream three-dimensional GISsoftware platforms, and summarizes technology processes of using Skyline to buildthree-dimensional model scene.(3) On the basis of data processing and spatial database construction, this thesis constructs the multi-source, massive, high-resolution three-dimensional scene ofLijiang’s20,600sq kms.(4) By use of TerraDeveloper secondary development interface and controls, thisthesis develops the three-dimensional geographic information system of Lijiang City,achieves three-dimensional scene browsing, plotting tagging, check positioning, layercontrol, spatial analysis, terrain analysis, collaborative communication anddemographic information inquiries, emergency mobilization (personnel, supplies,etc.) queries, forest information query, which are related to emergency rescue.Based on Skyline software platform, this thesis designs and brings outdimensional GIS of Lijiang. Therefore, it not only meets the need of decisionassistance and information support of emergency commander and emergencyresponse teams of Lijiang, but also provides reference and guidance for theconstruction of three-dimensional GIS systems in other regions.
